As I read the story of the tree of life today, I considered the invitation to reflect on where I am now, and where I am going. Continue reading “The tree of life”
Pillars and life changes
Taking down pictures from the walls and emptying out the kitchen cupboards is a strange feeling when you’ve come to call a place home. I had to take a deep breath after starting to pack up our Virginia apartment this week. Our cute little place is now lined with boxes, bags and piles of things to pack up. Change is good -but it always brings its challenges, as anything new does.
This month I know I’m not alone. In the fall, big changes happen for many people. Back to school, not going back to school, summer job ending, new job beginning, moving, new baby, or changing weather: you name it, and someone is experiencing it. Many look forward to these changes with excitement, some with apprehension, or like me, with a strange mixture of both. However you cope with change, you probably have developed your own ways to get through it.
With my own life-changes whirling closer to me this month, I’ve spent some time thinking about how I will best be able to navigate through them. Continue reading “Pillars and life changes”

This is an update from this post, where I talked about the great jacket that I bought for my mission. Many sister missionaries around the world need a light, durable, waterproof jacket, so I wanted to tell you a little about the Columbia Splash-a-Little II rain jacket! On making life choices
In life we come to crossroads. We are required to decide our direction. Deciding between options that will have long-term implications on our lives, and the lives of those closest to us, is one of the most terrifying things we can do. Terrifying, because it determines so much, yet liberating, considering that decision-making is an opportunity to discover where we are meant to go. Continue reading “On making life choices”

Week 2 en el CCM!!
Hola Everyone!!
I just got back from the Mexico City temple. It is one of the biggest and most beautiful temples I have ever been to. It’s so big it has two sets of escalators inside it! The session was in Español, so that was awesome; thankfully they had headsets for us! But the language is no matter because wow, the spirit that you feel in the temple is the same spirit that you feel in any of God´s holy temples. Continue reading “Week 2 en el CCM!!”

Missionary Memory Photo Book!
This is literally one of the best ideas ever for any missionary! There will be countless times people will ask about your family while you are on a mission, your companions will ask about your friends back home, or you’ll just be missing everyone; so to help with those moments, why not make a photo book? Families are Forever
Wow. One of the things that hasn’t truly hit me, is that I am not going to see my family for 18 months. 18 MONTHS! I guess its hard because I know that everyone in my family, especially my little siblings, will grow and change so much! Thankfully, I will have Christmas and Mother’s Day in there, but I have so much love and appreciation for them and everything they do for me. Continue reading “Families are Forever”
